Château de Beaucastel – Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge – 2005 Historic property of the Perrin family, one of the greatest references in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The estate is one of the few to work with all 13 grapes of the appellation, featuring a significant proportion of Mourvèdre alongside Grenache, Syrah, and Cinsault. Vines have been organic since the 1950s, planted on the famous rounded pebbles. 2005, a great vintage in the Southern Rhône, produced structured, deep, and long-aged wines. Nose of black fruits, fig, garrigue, leather, truffle, spices, and gamey notes. Full-bodied and deep mouthfeel, velvety tannins, good freshness, long and spicy finish. Provenance: acquired from a cellar purchase in 2020, kept since then in an underground cellar at 15 °C.
