Clos Rougeard – Saumur-Champigny – 2013 Mythical Loire domain in Chacé, long held by the Foucault brothers and now one of the world’s leading references for Cabernet Franc. 100 % Cabernet Franc, vines grown organically, aged in barrels. The 2013 vintage, a cool year in the Loire, produced a well-balanced, straightforward and very expressive wine. Nose of red fruits, blackcurrant, violet, graphite and hints of undergrowth. Fine and taut mouthfeel, silky tannins, fresh and mineral finish. Provenance: acquired from a cellar purchase in 2020, kept since in an underground cellar at 15 °C.
