Clos de Tart – Grand Cru Monopole – 2016 One of the greatest monopoles of Burgundy, in Morey-Saint-Denis, founded in the 12th century by the Cistercian monks of the Abbey of Tart. 100 % Pinot Noir, biodynamically farmed vines. The 2016 vintage, affected by April frost, yielded very low yields but produced wines of exceptional quality, concentrated and vibrant. Nose of black cherry, raspberry, rose, sweet spices, and forest floor notes. Ample and silky mouthfeel, fine and tight tannins, great freshness, very long finish. Provenance: acquired from a cellar purchase in 2020, kept since then in an underground cellar at 15 °C.
