Lucien Le Moine – Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru – 2014 Cult micro-negotiant from Beaune founded by Mounir and Rotem Saouma, renowned for its very long élevages on lees, without racking, and minuscule volumes per cuvée. Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet is the smallest of the Grands Crus in the Montrachet family, on the Chassagne side. 100% Chardonnay. 2014, one of the greatest recent vintages for white Burgundies: tight, precise, cut out for aging. Nose of candied citrus, pear, toasted almond, fresh butter, notes of flint and white flowers. Ample yet precise mouthfeel, great mineral tension, very long and salty finish. Provenance: acquired from a cellar purchase in 2020, kept since in an underground cellar at 15°C.
