The Armand Rousseau domain's reputation for excellence goes back more than half a century. It produces the best Chambertin on the market. The domain was established at the beginning of the last century by Armand Rouseau who, on reaching adulthood, inherited several vineyard parcels in the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin. Over the years he continued to expand his domain by purchasing Grands Crus such as Mazy, Charmes and Chambertin. The average age of the grape vines (100 % Pinot Noir) is fairly old - between 40 to 45 years. Fertiliser has not been used for many years. Integrated pest management is now used throughout the vineyard. Traditional vinification methods are used with partial de-stalking (90%).
