Seller description

Château Cheval Blanc 1984 – Saint-Émilion, 1er Grand Cru Classé “A” Condition: Main label stained, vintage not visible. Back label affixed by a wine merchant indicates vintage as 1984. Capsule intact. Level very top-shoulder/into neck. A rare 1980s bottling of Cheval Blanc. The 1984 vintage was challenging in Bordeaux, but Cheval Blanc’s meticulous vineyard work and Merlot-Cabernet Franc blend produced one of the Right Bank’s more refined wines of the year. Mature notes of leather, tobacco leaf, dried herbs, and cedar dominate the bouquet, while the palate shows gentle fruit, integrated acidity, and a soft, tertiary finish. Though fully evolved, this bottle represents both the prestige of Cheval Blanc and the rarity of 1980s vintages now seldom seen at auction. For the collector of historic Right Bank wines.
