Château Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac, 1959

I’m offering for sale a bottle of Château Mouton Rothschild 1959, recently discovered in the family cellar of Château des Quat Sos, located in La Réole (Gironde, France). It was stored in darkness and at a constant temperature for nearly 70 years. This bottle belonged to my great-grandfather, Georges Viort, who was the curator of the Rothschild family’s art gallery. The label is heavily damaged, but the 1959 vintage remains clearly legible. The original capsule is nearly intact, and the fill level is low shoulder, which is consistent with its age.
