Seller description

A very rare Madeira wine, a nectar of the gods. The history of Madeira Wine begins shortly after the discovery of the island from which it takes its name, with records of the first productions and exports, 25 years after its discovery. On Madeira Island, vines are cultivated in small earth enclosures, known as "poios", supported by earth walls on the slopes of the mountains, which are often difficult to access. The unique soil and climate of Madeira Island, as well as the production process and the cultivated grape varieties, have contributed to the unparalleled distinction of Madeira Wine over time. In addition to these factors, there are still 30 grape varieties for the production of this liqueur wine, the noblest being Sercial, Boal, Verdelho and Malvasia. Liquid level is Lower shoulder level. The year of bottling may not match the image shown.
