The estate owns 8.3 hectares in the renowned Scharzhofberg vineyard in Wiltingen, south-facing Devonian slate soils, including parcels of ungrafted 19th-century vines. The 2022 Scharzhof is a fruity-styled Riesling sourced from estate holdings in Saarburger Rausch, Oberemmeler Rosenberg, Wiltinger Kupp and Wiltinger Braunfels. Precise aromatic profile: yellow apple, white peach, candied grapefruit, lime blossom, herbs and light smoke. Light to medium-bodied, with vibrant acidity, fine extract and a slight perceptible sweetness on entry, balanced by a long, mineral, slate-driven finish. Currently youthful; optimal drinking window 2027–2037. Bottles in perfect condition, professionally cellared.
