The name Quinta do Noval first appeared in records in the year 1715. The history of Quinta do Noval is marked by the action of visionaries: António José da Silva, a merchant from Vila Nova de Gaia, acquired Quinta do Noval in 1894 after it was devastated by phylloxera. Restructured the property by replanting its vineyards, making it one of the most famous wines in the world. This 1931 wine was only available in the United Kingdom, hence its rarity.
