Seller description
Rare half bottle of Château Cos d'Estournel - Saint-Estèphe Grand Cru Classé - 1954. Located very close to the border between Saint Estephe and Pauillac, the 85Ha vineyard of Chateau Cos d’Estournel, lying on a gravel, clay and limestone soil, is planted to about 2/3 of Cabernet Sauvignon and 1/3 Merlot. The Chateau produces the presitigious Château Cos d’Estournel, 2ème Grand Cru Classé in 1855. The wines that the Château use to produce are ripe, powerful, and tannic. They age extremely well, sometimes over 40 years. Superb bottle. Great cellaring conditions in my cellar. Perfect color Upper shoulder fill 90/100 Wine Spectator 97/100 Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate Idealwine quote: 728 eur PS: Bottle probably left the chateau in the 1960's as these small bottles are less commonly ordered than the standard bottles of 75cl.
