Seller description
The property's history begins in the mid-nineteenth century, when the English ancestors of the current owners, the Leacock family, planted vineyards and banana trees on an area of 6 hectares. Descendants of John Leacock, forerunner of the Madeira wine trade with England in the mid-eighteenth century, the family became one of the largest producers of Madeira wine until 1925. It is still a Madeira wine brand today.
