- French wineyard
The Château Giscours has encountered many mishaps during the 70s and 80s following numerous court cases. The vineyard took another turn after its takeover by Eric Albada Jelgersma, a Dutch businessman with which the area has regained its original reputation.
The harvest is done by hand and the wine-making process is carried out by parcels, in temperature-regulated tanks made of stainless steel or concrete. The ageing is done in oak barrels (50% new) for 15 to 18 months.
Wine Château Giscours has a dense and structured robe, a powerful nose, with slight touches of black fruit and timber.
Grape variety : Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot.
Ageing : Apt for ageing.
Annual production : 250 000 - 350 000 bottles.
